Q: What led to the development of Yoga Nuts?

As a long distance runner for over 20 years, Mr. Berg was familiar with the importance of each which enabled him to run 10 miles or more every day and frequently over 400 miles a month. However, on the heels of being diagnosed with diabetes a few years ago followed by an extended recovery from a running injury, he became acutely aware of the role of good fat in the diet of high performance athletes after years of eating low fat – high protein foods. With the absence of fat for his body to burn as fuel, it was scavenging from muscles and bones for fuel sources weakening the key muscles and bones he was trying to rebuild. Attempting to increase the good fat in his daily diet to aid in his strength building recovery, he resorted to keeping jars of peanut butter at home and at work. Eventually, having a portable, good fat alternative that was easy to take and easy to eat anywhere became the ideal, and the beginning of the idea for Yoga Nuts – the ultimate healthy snack for active winners who are trying to exercise regularly and eat right throughout the day.
